Did you know

ï‚·-Vervets live in complex, but stable, social groups (also called troops) of 10 to 50 individual monkeys.

These troops mainly consist of adult females and their immature offspring. Males move freely in and out

of these groups.

ï‚· -Vervets living near areas inhabited by people are inappropriately regarded as pests, for stealing food and other items to survive. Some people are known for shooting the females to steal the babies, and sell as pets.

ï‚· -Vervets usually fear men more than they do women.

ï‚·- Capuchin monkeys are often taken from their mothers as small babies to raise as pets who will often spend their life in diapers, wearing baby clothing, taken out on a leash and are also often used in laboratories for testing side effects of medicines.

ï‚·- Owls produce a pellet every day, a neat package of all of the parts of their food they cannot fully digest, such as bones and feathers.

ï‚·- Owls have 14 bones in their necks to allow them to turn their heads 270 degrees. Humans only have 7, and even a giraffe only has 7.

Currently with us

- Errol - He came to us from another centre that closed down, he is an adult, we have tried to release him on the property, but he is too tame and after opening his cage one night, we found him hopping around the restaurant the next morning.
